St. Pat Favors

One of the highlights of the Festival was the College of Ceramics Open House. It was an excellent opportunity for students, townspeople, and people from surrounding areas to inspect the facilities of the College of Ceramics. Displays and demonstrations were set up by every department in the College (art and engineering) as well as by many large ceramic manufacturers. Students and instructors demonstrated the various phases of ceramic work and explained the exhibits and displays to the visitors. The demonstrations included glass blowing, pottery making, firing of enamels, x-ray demonstrations, chemical analyses of clays, microscope, etc.)
