Rogers Observatory

1863

Originally located north and east of Alumni Hall on land now occupied by Susan Howell Hall, the Rogers Observatory featured astronomical instruments including a 9.5 foot focal length, 9 in ck aperture telescope provided by William A. Rogers. In 1900, Professor J.D. Bennehoff rejuvenated the old observatory. Some other original equipment is still in use in the John L. Stull Observatory on campus. Date of removal from the site is unknown.
