Seidlin Annex

1932

The rear of Seidlin Hall housed experimental equipment operated by the College of Ceramics and it was occupied for some time by Alfred University Research Foundation as a testing and experimental facility. In 1977, AURF began developing and selling ceramic cooking ware when the annex was referred to as The Pilot Plant. In 1985, the building was gutted and three rooms created as temporary locations for the Electrical Engineering program, the Communications program, and the Performing Arts scene shop. It was replaced by the new Engineering Labs building in 1986 for the Industrial, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Division, which was dedicated on Oct. 29, 1987.
